Ramanand -  (1299-1411) Ramanand ji was a famous Vaishnava saint and Acharya, he was born in the Kanyakubj Brahmin family of Prayag. At the young age of 92, Ramanand ji had come to Kashi because of the thirst for knowledge. Staying here he first studied Shankar Vedanta. After this he took the education of Vishishtadvaita from Swami Raghavanand ji. After that he went on pilgrimage. On his return from pilgrimage, he wrote Ram Raksha Stotra, Siddhant Patal and Gyanlila in Hindi. Sant Ramanand raised his voice against caste system and other social evils. Cow slaughter ban was also done by them. His residence in Kashi was at Panchganga Ghat. Where he built Shrimath.

Kabir -  (1398-1518 AD) Kabir was born in Kashi. It is said that Kabir was born from the womb of a widow with the blessings of Ramanand ji. Fearing public shame, the widow had left her newborn baby near Lahartara Sarovar. According to another legend, Kabir was born to a weaver. Kabir was a disciple of Ramanand. Kabir accepted the five principles of Ramanand's worship of Ram but considered Ram as Nirguna Brahman instead of Saguna Brahman. Kabir was also a staunch opponent of social evils. The Mahaprayana of Kabirdas took place near Maghar.

Tailangaswamy – (1607–1887 AD) Tailangaswamy was born in the Vijayanagara state of Telangana recently. When his mother died at the age of 40, he decided to stay in the cremation ground. Swamiji reached Kashi in 1737 AD. He first stayed here at Assi Ghat, then resided at Ved Vyas Ashram and Dashashwamedh Ghat located at Hanuman Ghat. He also had many other names. In which famously Mrityunjay Mahadev and Vishwanath were prominent. Tailangaswamy also performed many miracles. He used to swim across the Ganges even when his hands and feet were tied. They used to stay submerged when it was very cold and slept on the sand in the scorching heat. Tailangaswamy left his body in 1807. Whereas some people believe that he took Samadhi at the age of 280.

Swami Vishuddhanand Saraswati (A.D. 1820-1899) Swami Vishuddhananda Saraswati was originally a Kanyakubja Brahmin of Bindi village in Sitapur. He was born near Gulbarga in Karnataka. In 1850, Swami Vishuddhanand came to Kashi. Sri Gaur Swami, who lives at Dashashwamedh Ghat here, initiated him into sanyas and named him Swami Vishuddhanand Saraswati. Inspired by them, Raja Pratap Singh of Jammu and Kashmir started Ranveer Pathshala in Kashi and Darbhanga Naresh Laxmeshwar Sinha started Darbhanga Sanskrit Pathshala. He also composed many texts, in which the interpretation of 'Kapil Gita' proved to be very authentic.

Swami Karpatri ji (1907-1982 AD) Swami Karpatri ji was born in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Karpatri ji was a Saryupari Brahmin. Since childhood, his mind was inclined towards detachment. That's why he used to run away from home again and again. To stabilize them, their father got them married. After which a girl was also born to them. But in 1926, leaving Moh Maya at home, he went to Prayag, his guru was Brahmanand Saraswati, from whom he took initiation of sanyasa. He did the reform of Sameerupeeth in Kashi. He opposed Harijan entry into Kashi Vishwanath temple. He built another temple for Vishwanath ji in 1954.

Devarhwababa- (1910-1990 AD) Devarhwa Baba was born in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. His childhood name was Janardan Dubey. At the age of 16, he came to Kashi to acquire knowledge. He studied Sanskrit grammar, philosophy and literature here. The name Devarhwa was derived from being in the Deora forest. He lived in a scaffold on the top of a tree at Assi Ghat in Kashi. People of all religions were his disciples.

Shyama Charan Lahiri - In our Vedas, along with philosophy of life, there is also a solution to the deep mysteries related to various subjects. With the help of these treasures of knowledge, our sages, on the strength of their will, treasured the ideas and objects of public use and worked in the direction of human welfare by making them accessible in a simple way. Kashi was the most suitable place for Mahatmas and Yogis for this work. In this capital of religion, the saints proved by their spiritual practice that the answer to all is hidden in our traditional Vedas. By studying and following it, we can make our life happy. Shyama Charan Lahiri became one such saint. Shyama Charan Lahiri was a master of Kriya Yoga. By the way, Kriya Yoga is very ancient from the historical point of view. Its description is found in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Also it is mentioned in Gita. But Shyama Charan Lahiri did the work of making Kriya Yoga accessible to the masses and simplified. Shyama Charan Lahiri was originally a Bengali Brahmin. He was born in 1828 in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. Once in his childhood there was a huge flood. Lahiri's house was washed away in this severe flood. The problem of livelihood arose in front of his family. His father came to Kashi for business with the whole family. During this time his age was 12 years. After taking education in Kashi, Shyama Charan Lahiri started working in the Railways under the British rule. During this he had contact with Baba Ji who became his Guru. Baba ji had good knowledge of Kriya Yoga. Staying in the company of his Guru, Shyama Charan Lahiri not only mastered Kriya Yoga but also did the work of disseminating it. LahiriAccording to Ji, Kriya Yoga liberates the seeker of truth from all kinds of mental conditionings and past actions and equips the inner being with a new cover. The name of Lahiri ji got fame from the book "Auto-Biography of a Yogi" as a person who searched for truth all over the world. This book came out in different languages. Yogiraj Lahiri built a family temple at Satyalok D- 22/3, Chausatti Ghat. From where he duly used to teach Kriya Yoga to his disciples. Later, after Lahiri, his son Tinkauri Lahiri received Kriya Yoga through his grandson Satyacharan Lahiri, his great-grandson Shivendu Lahiri. Presently Shivendru Lahiri teaches Kriya Yoga not only in the country but also abroad. At the same time, people from all over the country and abroad often come here and find the path of self-peace by learning Kriya Yoga, in Satyalok, the penance place of Shyama Charan ji. Presently Satyalok is four storeyed. There is a Shivling in the temple on the first floor and in it the statue of his grandson along with Shyama Charan Lahiri is installed. There is also a statue of Lahiri ji's Guru Baba ji near him. A special program is organized here on Guru Purnima. During this, bhajan-kirtan and discourses continue for two days before two days. Along with this, Bhandara is also organized. It is easily accessible via Chausatti Ghat.
