गणित को सबसे कठिन माना जाता है लेकिन एक ताज़ा शोध में पता चला है कि गणित के सूत्र में मौजूद अंकों और अक्षरों का जटिल सिलसिला मस्तिष्क में आनंद की वैसी ही अनुभूति पैदा करता है, जैसी एक शानदार कलाकृति को देखकर या महान संगीतज्ञों का संगीत सुनकर पैदा होती है,
यूनिवर्सिटी कॉलेज लंदन में ब्रेन स्कैनिंग के दौरान कुछ गणितज्ञों को 'अप्रिय' और 'सुंदर' समीकरणों को दिखाया गया.
शोधकर्ताओं ने पाया कि कला को सराहने में मस्तिष्क का जो हिस्सा सक्रिय होता है वही हिस्सा 'सुंदर' गणित से उत्प्रेरित होता है.
शोधकर्ताओं का कहना है कि सुंदरता के न्यूरोबायोलाजिकल कारण हो सकते हैं.
