Barsan Laagi | Thumri-Dadra in Raga Mishra Pilu by Trina Chatterjee | Geeli Mitti (Mystica Music)

Barsan Laagi Saawan Bundiya' is a Dadra within the Thumri genre from the Patiala Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music. It is based on Raga Mishra Pilu and has also been used in the movie, Halla Bol. The original composition of 'Barsan Laagi' is accredited to Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and his brother Ustad Barkat Ali Khan. The poetic voice is that of a woman who is yearning for the one she loves. The drops of rain make her restless in the memory of her beloved. The monsoons and the romantic love lyrics have a special place in the Hindustani Classical 'bandishes' and semi-classical folk songs. The clouds in the video have been captured from the GoPro Hero Black as a Time Lapse video taken in Gurgaon (India) on the cloudy Sunday afternoon 26th of July '15. The time lapse was executed by Yeashu Yuvraj of The Better Half Production. Lyrics: Barsan laagi saawan bundiya raja Tore bin laage na mora jiya Prem hawa hai bheeni bheeni Prem ki batiyaan meethi meethi Dukhva apna main na kahoongi Ek jhalak tohe dekhe maroongi Tore bin laage na mora jiya Barsan laagi saawan bundiya raja Tore bin laage na mora jiya Mera bhi tu naam na lena Mil jaaye toh ye keh dena Ik deewana chup rehta hai Kehta hai toh ye kehta hai Tore bin laage na mora jiya Barsan laagi saawan bundiya raja Tore bin laage na mora jiya
