Born on December 6, 1922, Pt. Vishwanath Rao Ringe aka Late Acharya Vishwanath Rao Ringe was an eminent Hindustani Classical Music vocalist and composer who hailed from the Gwalior Gharana. He was popularly known as 'Acharya Tanarang', as he composed nearly all of his bandishen under the title 'Tanarang'. He composed more than 1800 bandishs in about 200 ragaas, for which he has been enlisted in Limca Book of Records.

Eminent contemporary Dance pioneer Astad Deboo (13 July 1947 - 10 December 2020) passed away on Thursday morning after battling a brief illness. His family member announced his passing away on Facebook quoting,
"Astad's Family is sad to announce the passing away of Astad Deboo.
He left us in the early hours of December 10, at his home in Mumbai, after a brief illness, bravely borne.
