Suprabhat "Meditation with morning ragas"....Uppalapu Srinivas was an Indian mandolin player in Carnatic classical music and composer. U. Srinivas was a child prodigy. He started to play the mandolin, a little-known instrument in India, when he was only six years old. Srinivas learnt to play Carnatic ragas on the mandolin with so much ease and dexterity that his name has become synonymous in India with the mandolin and he is popularly called Mandolin Srinivas.

Chaurasia started learning vocal music from his neighbor, Rajaram, at the age of 15. Later, he switched to playing the flute under the tutelage of Bholanath Prasanna of Varanasi for eight years. He joined the All India Radio, Cuttack, Odisha in 1957 and worked as a composer and performer.
