Sanjeev Chimmalgi

Pandit Sanjeev Chimmalgi (Hindi: संजीव चिम्मलगि) (born 29 July 1972) is an Indian music composer and Hindustani vocalist. He is a disciple of C. R. Vyas. His music reflects the voice culture of Kirana gharana as well as the bandish oriented singing of the Gwalior gharana/ Agra gharana.

Background
Chimmalgi was born in Mumbai to M.V. Chimmalgi, in a family hailing from Dharwad, Karnataka. His grandfather, Chimmalgi Master, was a noted tabla player.

Vishmadev Chattopadhyay

Vishmadev Chattopadhyay (Bengali: ভীষ্মদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়; 8 November 1909 – 8 August 1977 was an eminent vocal artist in Indian Classical Music, a revered Guru (আচার্য্য or Ustad) in the Delhi Gharana of the vocal classical genre, and a music director in Bengali Film Industry in its early era.

Early life

Manas Chakraborty

Pandit Manas Chakraborty (Bengali: মানস চক্রবর্তী Maanosh Chokrobortee) September 1942 – 12 December 2012) was an Indian classical vocalist. He was taught music by his father Tarapada Chakraborty. Chakraborty performed at many music conferences and programs including the Allauddin Music Conference (1976), the 5th RIMPA Music Festival (Benaras, 1984), and the Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav (Pune, 1984). He was a writer and composer, and used the pseudonym Sadasant or Sadasant Piya for composing bandishes. He composed many Bengali songs[citation needed].

Kaushiki Chakraborty

Kaushiki Chakraborty (born 24 October 1980) is an Indian classical vocalist. She attended Sangeet Research Academy, and was one of the exponents of Patiala gharana. Her repertoire covers Khyals and semi-classical Thumris. She is the recipient 2005 BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music in the Asia-Pacific category. She is the daughter of Hindustani classical vocalist, Ajoy Chakraborty and she has held performances with her husband, Parthasarathi Desikan.In 2020, she was awarded Nari Shakti Puraskar.

Ajoy Chakrabarty

Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty (born 25 December 1952) is an Indian Hindustani classical vocalist,[1] composer, lyricist and Gurudev. He is considered to be one of the proverbial figures of Indian classical music. He has also dominated for other major classical genres of India especially - Indore, Delhi, Jaipur, Gwalior, Agra, Kirana, Rampur and even Carnatic music in South India. He was given Padma Bhushan Award, the third highest civilian award in India in 2020.
