देवधर, बाळकृष्ण रामचंद्र : (११ सप्टेंबर १९०१ – १० मार्च १९९०). प्रसिद्ध भारतीय संगीतज्ञ, संगीत शिक्षक व शास्त्रीय गायक आणि आवाज जोपासनशास्त्राचे एक अग्रगण्य अभ्यासक. त्यांचा जन्म मध्यमवर्गीय कुटुंबात मिरज (भूतपूर्व संस्थान व सांप्रत सांगली जिल्हा) येथे झाला. त्यांचे प्राथमिक शिक्षण जन्मगावीच झाले आणि वयाच्या नवव्या वर्षापासून त्यांनी संगीताचे शिक्षण घेण्यास सुरुवात केली. मिरजेमध्ये नीलकंठबुवा अलूरमठ, विनायकबुवा पटवर्धन व अंशत: अब्दुल करीमखाँ यांच्याकडून त्यांनी संगीतशिक्षण घेतले. त्यानंतर ते मुंबईला विष्णु दिगंबर पलुस्कर यांच्याकडे गांधर्व विद्यालयात पुढील संगीतशिक्षणासाठी गेले (१९१८).

बाळूभाई रूकडीकर : (२८ डिसेंबर १८८८ – २२ ऑक्टोबर १९६२). महाराष्ट्रातील सुप्रसिद्ध तबलावादक. त्यांचा जन्म कोल्हापूर येथे झाला. त्यांचे खरे नाव उस्ताद गुलाम हुसेन. लहानपणी वडिलांबरोबर ते पंतअमात्य बावडेकर यांच्याकडे जात असत. ते त्यांना बाळ म्हणत. त्यावरूनच पुढे बाळूभाई हे त्यांचे नाव प्रचलित झाले. शिवाय बळवंतराव या नावानेही ते ओळखले जात. त्यांचे वडील उस्ताद दादाभाई हे त्यावेळचे प्रसिद्ध तबलावादक होते, तर त्यांच्या आई अमिनाबाई ह्या सुप्रसिद्ध गायिका होत्या. त्यामुळे जन्मापासूनच त्यांना कलेचा वारसा लाभला. वयाच्या सातव्या वर्षापासूनच त्यांनी वडिलांकडून तबलावादनाचे शिक्षण घेण्यास सुरुवात केली.

पुरंदरदास : (सु. १४८४ – सु. १५६४). कर्नाटकातील एक थोर संतकवी, शास्त्रीय संगीतकार व रचनाकार. हे वसिष्ठ गोत्री यजुर्वेदी ब्राह्मण असून माध्वमताचे होते. त्यांचा जन्म पुण्याजवळील पुरंदरगडावर झाला, असे म्हणतात. पण काही विद्वानांच्या मते त्यांचा जन्म बळ्ळारी जिल्ह्यातील हंपीजवळील पुरंदरगड या गावी झाला. त्यांच्या वडिलांचे नाव वरदप्पा नायक. ते रत्नांचे व्यापारी होते. पुरंदरदासांचे जन्मनाम श्रीनिवास तथा तिम्मप्पा नायक. संस्कृत, कन्नड, संगीत या विषयांत त्यांनी शास्त्रोक्त ज्ञान संपादन केले होते. विजयानगरच्या कृष्णदेवरायांच्या दरबारात ते रत्नपारखी म्हणून प्रसिद्ध होते.

Ustad Faiyaz Khan (8 February 1886 – 5 November 1950) was an Indian classical vocalist, an exponent of the Agra Gharana of Hindustani classical music. According to SwarGanga Music Foundation website, "By the time he died at Baroda, he had earned the reputation of being one of the greatest and most influential vocalists of the century.

Shri Maniram Pandit (8 December 1910 – 16 May 1985)] was an Indian classical vocalist from the Mewati gharana. Pandit is known for his exemplary contribution to Indian classical music. His compositions ‘ Mata Kalika ’, Niranjani Narayani, Gala Bhujang , Lasat Seer Chand are master pieces and sung by each and every vocalist of Mewati Gharana . He is the elder brother and guru of Pt. Jasraj and eldest son of Pt. Motiram Pandit.

Vinay Chandra Maudgalya(1918 - 1995) was an Indian classical musician, vocalist and the founder of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, a music and dance academy for the promotion of Hindustani music and Indian classical dances.[ He was a follower of Gwalior gharana.The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1984.

Sangeeta Katti Kulkarni (Kannada: ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಕುಲಕರ್ಣಿ), is an Indian playback singer, Hindustani classical vocalist, musician, music composer from Karnataka. She was awarded the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award in 2006 by the Government of Karnataka.

Sangeeta Katti was born in Dharwad in Karnataka. She is a daughter of Dr. H. A . Katti and Bharati Katti, on 7 October 1970.

Kesarbai Kerkar (13 July 1892 – 16 September 1977) was an Indian classical vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana. A protege of Ustad Alladiya Khan (1855–1946), the founder of the gharana, from age sixteen, she went on to become one of the most noted khayal singers of the second half of the 20th century.

She was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1953, followed by Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award in India, in 1969.

Asha Khadilkar (born 11 January 1955) is a Mumbai, India-based Senior Vocalist who performs Indian (Hindustani) classical, semi-classical and devotional music including Natya Sangeet.

Ustad Abdul Karim Khan (Devanagari: उस्ताद अब्दुल करीम ख़ान, Persian: اُستاد عبدُالکریم خان) (11 November 1872 – 27 October 1937)was an Indian classical singer and, along with his cousin Abdul Wahid Khan, the founder of the Kirana gharana.
