Kumar Sanu is a well known playback singer of Hindi cinema. Born on October 20, 1957 in Kolkata, Kumar Sanu's original name is Kedarnath Bhattacharya. His father himself was a good singer and musician. He was the one who taught Kumar Sanu singing and tabla playing. Sanu, who considers singer Kishore Kumar as her role model, has maintained her own distinct style in singing.

Thyagaraja was a famous musician. He was a great knower of 'Carnatic music' and a poet of devotional path. He composed devotional songs dedicated to Lord Shriram. His best songs are often sung at religious events. Thyagaraja had enriched society and literature as well as art. His erudition is reflected in his every work, although the work 'Pancharatna' is said to be his best work. No moment of Thyagaraja's life was separated from Shriram. In his works, he described Lord Rama as a friend, master, father and helper.

Badal Sarkar was an actor, playwright, director, and all of them theater theorists. He was one of India's most famous playwrights.

Ustad Mohammad Hanif Khan Mirajkar was born in 1938 into a family of musicians. He is the son and disciple of the great Tabla maestro, the late Ustad Mehboob Khan Mirajkar. He has also learned Tabla from his elder brother, Late Ustad Abdul Khan Mirajkar. He has also had the opportunity to learn under the maestro Ustad Jahangir Khan from Benares, under whose tutelage he learnt many rare tabla compositions. Ustad Mohammad Hanif Khan became a full time tabla teacher in 1986.

Pandit Omkarnath Thakur (24 June 1897 - 29 December 1967), his name often preceded by the title Pandit, was an influential Indian Educator, Musicologist and Hindustani Classical Vocalist. He is famously known as "Pranav Rang", his pen-name. A disciple of Classical Singer Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar of Gwalior Gharana, he became the principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Lahore, and later went on become the first dean of the music faculty at Banaras Hindu University.

• Early life and training :

Hindustani Classical Vocalist, teacher, composer and scholar, Pt. Krishna Gundopant Ginde famously known as Pt. K. G. Ginde was born on December 26, 1925, in Bailhongal, near Belgaum, Karnataka. He showed interest in music from an early age and devoted his entire life to its pursuit. He became a shishya of Pt. S N Ratanjankar at the age of 11 and moved to Lucknow to become a member of Ratanjankar`s household. S. N. Ratanjankar was then the Principal of Marris College of Music, founded by Bhatkhande.

L. Subramaniam is a talented Indian violinist, composer and talented performer of South Indian and Western classical music with Carnatic music. The melodies composed by them are unique in themselves. Not only is he a violinist, but he is also known as a revolutionary changer of technology and new experiments in music.

Tansen was born in 1506. Those whose name was Tanna then. To gain further knowledge of music, Swamiji sent him to Hazrat Muhammad Gauss in Gwalior. After gaining sufficient knowledge of music, Tansen again returned to Mathura near Swami Haridas. Here he learned 'nad' lore from Swamiji. Tansen had achieved amazing success in music by now. Impressed by his music, Rewa-Naresh made him the head singer of his court. Akbar got an opportunity to listen to Tansen's music at Rewa-Naresh.

Dr. N. Rajam (born 16 April 1938) is an Indian violinist who performs Hindustani classical music. She remained Professor of Music at Banaras Hindu University, eventually became Head of the department and the Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts of the University.
She was awarded the 2012 Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship, the highest honour in the performing arts conferred by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy for Music, Dance and Drama.

Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar (born 1969) is a Hindustani classical music vocalist of the Mewati Gharana. He won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 1999 for his song, Suno Re Bhaila, in the Hindi film, Godmother and also the Kumar Gandharva National Award 2008 from the Govt of Madhya Pradesh for sustained excellence in the field of Classical Arts.
