यमन कल्याण

A rare and first ever duet of Sitar and Sarangi was presented by Navras Records / Sama Arts at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall in August 1993. The two legends of these instruments, Ustad Rais Khan (Sitar) and Ustad Sultan Khan (Sarangi) accompanied by Pandit Anindo Chatterjee (Tabla) mesmerised the audience that evening with brilliance and moving music that touched one and all. Here we present an excerpt of the Drut Gat in teentaal (16-beat cycle) in Raga Yaman Kalyan. This first half of the concert performance is released on the Navras Cd NRCD 0024.

यमन कल्याण एक हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय राग है, जो यमन से संबंधित है। इस राग की गति यमन की तरह है, सिवाय इसके कि वंश में, यह कभी-कभी GmG पैटर्न का उपयोग करते हुए समतल मध्यम को धीरे से छूता है। 

उस्ताद ध्यानेश खान कहा करते थे कि यमन कल्याण में फ्लैट मध्यम एक परदा महिला के सुंदर चेहरे की तरह है जो कभी-कभी घूंघट से बाहर आता है लेकिन उसके पीछे लगभग तुरंत गायब हो जाता है।

जैसा कि यह यमन से संबंधित है, यह कल्याण थाट का एक हिस्सा है।
