Gauhar Jaan

Gauhar Jaan (born Angelina Yeoward; 26 June 1873 – 17 January 1930)[2] was an Indian singer and dancer from Kolkata. She was one of the first performers to record music on 78 rpm records in India, which was later released by the Gramophone Company of India and that's why she is also known as the "The Gramophone girl" and "The first recording superstar of India". Having recorded more than 600 songs in more than ten languages between 1902 and 1920, Jaan is credited with popularising Hindustani classical music such as thumri, dadra, kajri, and tarana during the period.

Damodar Hota

Pandit Damodar Hota (Odia: ଦାମୋଦର ହୋତା; born 1935) is an eminent Indian classical vocalist, musicologist, composer, and guru based in Odisha, India. He is an exponent of Hindustani classical music as well as Odissi classical music (Udra Paddhatiya Sangita).

His primary research on Odissi classical music in the 1960s was groundbreaking in uncovering the historical roots, distinct ragas, talas, and lakshyanas of the music.[ He has fought to preserve the authenticity and distinctiveness of the form through his vocal performance, teaching, scholarship, and advocacy

Shanti Hiranand

Shanti Hiranand (Hindi : शान्ती हीरानंद) (1932 – 10 April 2020) was an Indian vocalist, classical musician and writer, known for her proficiency as a ghazal singer. She was the author of the book Begum Akhtar: The Story of My Ammi, a biographical work on Begum Akhtar, a renowned Ghazal singer.

Biography
Born in 1933 in a Sindhi business family based in Lucknow (now in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh), Shanti Hiranand studied at the Bhatkhande Music Institute, when her father had relocated his business in 1940s.
