Classical music is art music produced or rooted in the traditions of Western music, including both liturgical (religious) and secular music. The instruments currently used in most classical music were largely invented before the mid-19th century (often much earlier) and codified in the 18th and 19th centuries. They consist of the instruments found in an orchestra or in a concert band, together with several other solo instruments (such as the piano, harpsichord, and organ). The symphony orchestra is the most widely known medium for classical music[16] and includes members of the string, woodwind, brass, and percussion families of instruments. Echampati Gayathri, popularly known as "Veena Gayathri" is a veena exponent of the traditional Carnatic music. Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan was an Indian classical music violinist. Uppalapu Srinivas was a virtuoso Indian mandolin maestro and composer belonging to the classical Carnatic musical tradition of Southern India. Srinivas is regarded as the Mozart of classical Indian music. Dr. Kadri Gopalnath is an Indian saxophonist and one of the pioneers of Carnatic music on the saxophone.
