Pandit Nikhil Jyoti Ghosh (28 December 1918 – 3 March 1995) was an Indian musician, teacher and writer, known his proficiency on the percussion instrument of Tabla. He founded Sangit Mahabharati, an institution of music in 1956, and performed on various stages in India and abroad. A recipient of the Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan Award, his style was known to have been aligned with the Delhi, Ajrada, Farukhabad, Lucknow and Punjab gharanas of Tabla. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1990, for his contributions to Music.

Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar (20 October 1923, Indore, India - 28 December 2000, Kolkata, India) was an Eminent Indian dhrupad singer in the dagar-vani style.

Her gurus are Pandit Haripada Ghosh, Pandit Bhishmadev Vedi, Pandit Laxmanprasad Jaipurwale, Pandit V. G. Jog, Dr. S. C. R. Bhat and Padma Bhushan Dr. S. N. Ratanjankar. Zarin ji possesses a rare command over this enchanting instrument and has a distinctive individual style. She plays with great finesse and her mastery of the instrument is rooted in a thorough understanding of it and years of dedicated practice.

She grew up in the state of Rajasthan in India. For three years she taught mathematics at the Savitri Girls’ High School & College, Ajmer, where she had graduated in the same subject. Taking advantage of a three-year scholarship that came her way, she finished her Sangeet Nipun from the Ajmer Music College, studying music under the guidance of Govindrao Rajurkar and his nephew, who was to become her future husband, Vasantrao Rajurkar.
