Smt. Bharati Prathap

Bharathi Prathap, an Electronics engineer by qualification, was initiated into Carnatic classical music at a young age of 7 and later switched over to Hindustani classical music under the late Pt. Maruti Rao Inamdar at Davangere and continued her training under the late Pt. Rama Rao Naik, a doyen of the Agra Gharana in Bengaluru. Bharathi also trained in Bhavageethe & gaayana under Sri H.K.Narayana.

Currently, she is under the tutelage of Vidushi Lalith J. Rao, an outstanding exponent of the Agra-Atrauli Gharana. She is a graded artiste of the AIR and Doordarshan in both Classical Music and Kannada Devotional Music and has participated in the several interesting projects, conceived and directed by her Guru Vidushi Smt. Lalith Rao, “Bhairav to Bhairavi”, “Raag Rang Samay Yaatra”, “Agra Gharana Ek Vatvriksh”, "Panchrangi Ragon ka ek Guldasta" to name a few.

Bharathi has had a rare opportunity of traveling to Paris to give vocal support to her Guru’s concert and recording at Radio France.
